Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapy that treats the body holistically. Reflexology is a deeply relaxing treatment and can help the body release tension, promote relaxation, improve sleep and much more. Reflexology helps to balance the physical, mental and emotional aspects of the whole body.

During reflexology treatments gentle pressure will be applied to reflex points on the hands and feet. It is most common for reflexology treatments to focus on the feet, but hand treatments are also possible. The treatment stimulates the body’s ability to heal and balance as well as helping the body relax, thus giving the body the opportunity to naturally heal itself.

What to expect before your treatment?

Prior to your first appointment I will ask you to complete a confidential questionnaire based on your health and lifestyle. We will discuss this in your first treatment, this information will then be used to tailor your treatment to your specific needs.

During the treatment, gentle pressure will be applied to your reflex points using my hands and organic balm. After the treatment we will discuss which reflexes felt sensitive.

How may I feel after my treatment?

Emotional
It is normal to feel emotional after a reflexology treatment. It is worth writing down how you feel and we can discuss this in your next treatment.

Increased urination or bowel habits
You may find yourself visiting the toilet more than usual, you may notice an increase in urgency or change in bowel movements.

Tired
It is common to feel tired after the treatment, if possible, try to rest or have a nap.

Usually, these symptoms are not severe and pass within 24-48 hours. Taking a rest and sipping on water usually helps but if these symptoms persist for more than 48 hours or are severe, please contact your GP.
